Wonderful cultural evening with Tanja Stupar-Trifunović in beautiful old Sarajevo

Our second EUPL event of 2017 was held on the 16th of February at Svjetlostkomerc, a charming bookstore located amidst the historical landmarks of Stari Grad, Sarajevo's old district.

After an opening speech by her publisher, Tanja Stupar-Trifunović depicted her novel, a heart-warming story about the relationship between a mother and a daughter through times of peace and war that perfectly captures the strong spirit and the troubled history of the country. It was only fitting that the "Mother and Child" war memorial happened to be just a few hundred meters away.

The author was accompanied by her book's cover illustrator and Faruk Šehić, EUPL winner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013. Together, they won the audience by answering questions, telling interesting anecdotes and sharing laughs with them for almost two hours.

The short cocktail reception that followed was the cherry on top of a wonderful evening in one of the most prominent cultural centers in the Balkans.
