Video of Tanja Stupar-Trifunović at Sarajevo event (Bosnia and Herzegovina) now available!

During February's EUPL event in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2016 winner Tanja Stupar-Trifunović shared her insight on the "primary and complex" relationship between a mother and a daughter that is central to her novel Satovi u majčinoj sobi (Clocks in my mother’s room).

She explained how "some themes become so important that we cannot escape them", and that it is inevitable for her to draw on her personal experience with her own mother and daughter. It is up to the author to "transform the intimate into the universal", threading carefully "on the fine line between personal and general".
